SPECIALISTS OF TURKMENISTAN COMPLETED TRAINING IN THE FIFTH COHORT OF THE "C5+O.N.E." PROGRAM
In the context of implementing large-scale educational reforms initiated by the Honorable President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, continuous professional development of domestic pedagogical personnel and specialized experts is of paramount importance. A significant step in this direction was the successful completion of training and defense of final projects by participants of the Fifth Cohort of the international educational program «C5+Opening Networks through English», the solemn closing ceremony of which took place on June 7, 2026. This initiative covers all five states of Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The project is implemented by American Councils for International Education. Despite the fact that specialists from each participating country undergo training directly in their respective states, the project functions as a powerful unified international platform. It is aimed at the advanced study of professional English in the field of economics, creating strong regional networking, and developing interregional cooperation. For the Turkmen group, the intensive educational track, which lasted over nine months from September 1, 2025, to June 5, 2026, provided a unique opportunity to integrate cutting-edge linguistic and business competencies.
The academic training program was characterized by a fundamental approach and amounted to 180 academic hours, fully focused on the discipline of «English for Specific Purposes». During this period, the course participants mastered comprehensive modules covering professional economic terminology necessary for business planning, attracting investment, and conducting research activities. Special attention in the curriculum was paid to the development of academic writing skills for drafting official documentation and analytical reviews, as well as public speaking. In practical classes, participants thoroughly worked on the specifics of logical stress and correct intonation, which is critically important for the effective and confident presentation of innovative ideas on international discussion platforms.
The main result of the nine-month marathon was the public presentation of original interdisciplinary projects, in which the graduates demonstrated a high level of proficiency in specialized English. The presented initiatives were focused on solving urgent problems in the fields of education, digitalization, and the introduction of smart technologies. A striking example of the practical significance of the course was the defense of a startup project developed by a trainee teacher of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, Dunyagozel Almovova. The project, created within the framework of the «Smart City» concept, offers an innovative solution for the implementation of interactive digital displays for bus stops in Arkadag and Ashgabat, clearly demonstrating the transformation of acquired linguistic and economic knowledge into real proposals for the modernization of urban infrastructure.
At the conclusion of the program, an official ceremony was held to award international certificates of completion. The high status and authority of the educational project were underscored by the presence of official dignitaries who signed the documents. The graduates were warmly congratulated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood, the Executive Director of American Councils for International Education in Turkmenistan Oraztach Atayeva, and the Director of the C5+O.N.E. program Yulia Beloslyudtseva, who noted the deep development of the final works and their high potential for practical implementation.
The successful graduation of the Fifth Cohort directly contributes to the fulfillment of state tasks for the modernization of the national education system. The mastered innovative approaches, modern communication methods, and interactive games will be actively integrated into the curricula of domestic higher educational institutions. The experience gained will improve the quality of training for young scientists and specialists capable of worthily representing the achievements and technological potential of Turkmenistan at the international level, strengthening professional ties within the Central Asian region and beyond.
