NEW TEXTBOOK PUBLISHED FOR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

A new textbook entitled Oncology has been published in Turkmenistan for students of the country’s medical higher education institutions. The book was written by M. Jumayev, H. Hydyrov and J. Hojamyadov and published by the Turkmen State Publishing Service in 2026. Its publication coincided with the professional holiday of healthcare and medical industry workers in Turkmenistan.

The textbook consists of two sections. The first covers general issues in oncology, the characteristics of malignant tumours, theories of carcinogenesis, and modern high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment. The second examines benign and malignant tumours affecting various organs and body systems, focusing on their aetiology, classification, diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

The new publication is intended to serve as a valuable educational resource for future doctors and practising healthcare professionals. It supports the development of professional knowledge in oncology and familiarises readers with modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of tumours.
